My first week of functional training to nail my cossack squat focused on the 4 point cossack squat progression.

How does this relate to an asthmatic athlete? Any movement deficiency means additional energy expenditure. My lungs already work hard enough so focusing on fixing my movement patterns will give them a break. As if I need any more reason than that, improved lateral strength will decrease my risk of a knee injury when I’m trail running. If you’ve ever tripped over an exposed tree root you’ll know what I mean. All in all, improving this deficiency is a win, win situation!

If you have any questions or suggestions for further series leave me a comment.
